Canadian Solar was founded in 2001 and became a publicly listed company on NASDAQ in 2006. It has firmly established itself among the top ranked manufacturers of solar photovoltaic products globally, and has cumulatively delivered over 60 GW of solar modules to thousands of customers in more than 160 countries.

In 2015, Canadian Solar acquired Recurrent Energy, thus becoming one of the top world solar energy developers. By the end of  September 2020, The Company and its subsidiaries have cumulatively connected around 6.1 GW of solar power plants to the grid, 391MW solar plants in operation, and have over 22.2 GW project pipeline and backlog .

Today, the Company has manufacturing facilities and sales subsidiaries in 23 countries with more than 14,000 employees globally.
